I am a father of five children and currently have eight grandchildren. I have been married for 47 years, born and raised in the Borough of Queens, NYC, graduate of the City College of New York of the City University of New York, class of '61, currently living in the city of Concord, NC, part of the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. My wife, Alice, and I are retired. She is a Manhattanite, graduate of Queens College, CUNY. For most of my childhood, I was raised in a mostly Jewish neighborhood in New York, though of Norwegian- American parentage. This gives me a strange bi-cultural view of things, Norwegian and Jewish cultures being as much alike as polar bears and hummingbirds. Since Norwegian was the language spoken by my parents and grandparents when they did not want my brother and me to understand, I cannot sing a single song in Norwegian, but I can do "Hava Nagila," if requested(better not).
