I have rarely been able to enjoy events in my life at the time they've happened; often I have found that it is only afterward - in memory - that I have had the distance necessary to enjoy something. Over the course of my life I have written over 40 slim volumes of journals. I've never known what to do with them; indeed, they contain many many unflattering anecdotes about events in my life and my perceptions of them. This self-indulgent blog is just a way for me to revisit those many journals and ideas, to experience them again from an older and wiser perspective, and to comment on them from the distance of time.
