Laurel House- the "QuickieChick"

Santa Monica, CA

At the age of 19 she reached out to the “most powerful man in Hollywood” (at the time)- super agent Michael Ovitz. He became her mentor. She began to climb the corporate ladder, quickly ascending the ranks and simultaneously being hazed as a “trainee.” Realizing that this was not an industry that she wanted to devote her life to, she became an assistant at a public relations company, “accidentally” signing a client as a publicist, which lead to several more clients before signing on Whole Foods Market- southern pacific region and officially establishing the natural lifestyle division at the PR firm. She was 23 when she decided to leave corporate America and work for herself. Within a few months, she was an editor for the national Fit Magazine, then quickly began writing for several others including Men’s Journal and Playboy. At 24 she sold her first book to HarperCollins, then she sold another and another, before she started teaching writing classes. Today, she is a 34 year old 4x published author and Lifestyle Mentor. Her name is Laurel House, also now known as the “QuickieChick.” No, not the late night booty call kind of quickie, her "quickies" are all about making the most out of every moment- whether it’s a saddlebag-burning “Quickie Workout in Bed,” a metabolism-boosting “Bites with Benefits” meal, or how to get a $150 spa-quality skin peel out of a $1 tomato and lemon at-home Refrigerator Facial. Her YouTube videos have received over 7 million views and now you can get even more Quickie Tips from her new book “QuickieChick’s Cheat Sheet to Life, Love, Food, Fitness, Fashion and Finance on a Less than Fabulous Budget” (St. Martin’s, May 2012).
