Whether in one-on-one sessions, classroom settings, or leadership meetings, he approaches each role consistently and carefully. Matthew was raised in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, a small town where values such as humility, responsibility, and community support were integral to everyday life. After graduating from high school in 2006, he attended the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, majoring in Psychology with a concentration in human services. His academic efforts earned him Summa Cum Laude honors and several awards, including the Chancellor’s Leadership Award. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, earning a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, laying the groundwork for a career focused on guiding others through life’s challenges. He started his career as a Residential Therapist, working with youth and families in complex situations. Over time, he moved into supervisory roles, including leadership of a Family Preservation Program and later work as a Clinical Coordinator. In addition to full-time positions, he contributed to several other agencies through part-time clinical work, specializing in trauma-focused care, offender risk assessment, and treatment for juveniles and adults. His clinical background includes training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, and motivational interviewing, enabling him to provide practical support to those navigating challenging paths. In 2023, Matthew broadened his professional focus by becoming a certified Financial Coach through Ramsey Solutions. He launched his own coaching business, MatthewjRPC, LLC, where he provides coaching to individuals, couples, and families. He also volunteers as a facilitator for Financial Peace University classes and helps train other coaches, sharing knowledge on how financial and emotional well-being are connected. His unique blend of mental health training and financial coaching allows him to meet clients’ needs with a clear and balanced approach. In 2025, Matthew Deets of Wausau began serving as President and COO of Impact Training Center, LLC. In this role, he oversees programming designed to help individuals grow personally and professionally. He leads with a collaborative mindset, building people-centered and result-driven systems. His approach to leadership is less about authority and more about structure, intention, and creating environments that foster the growth and success of others. Outside of his professional work, he has remained quietly committed to serving his community. He supports organizations focusing on health, education, and faith-based outreach, contributing through financial support and hands-on involvement. He has volunteered in ministry settings, taught Sunday school, participated in men’s conferences, and visited community organizations with therapy dogs, offering comfort and presence without expecting recognition. Family is a central part of his life. Matthew and his wife are parents to four children—three biological and one adopted. Together, they spend time hiking, biking, and exploring nature, often visiting national parks as part of their shared routine. These moments reflect his belief in building strong relationships and creating meaningful experiences through time and attention. His faith remains a steady influence in how he approaches family, service, and leadership. Matthew also maintains a commitment to personal discipline through physical activity and travel. He has completed various endurance events, including 5Ks, 10Ks, a half-marathon, a full marathon, and a triathlon. He finds that staying active helps him stay grounded and focused. Before age 30, he had already visited ten countries and continues to travel with his family. One of their shared goals is to see every U.S. national park and every professional baseball stadium. Through all these experiences, Matthew Deets of Wausau has never lost sight of his core mission: to support people through thoughtful, consistent effort. Matthew Deets leads by example, not just through words, but through steady action that embodies his values.
