I am a psychoanalyst in private practice. I began this blog as a candidate (trainee) at a psychoanalytic institute to share my journey through this complex process with the world via this blog. I called the blog "loving psychoanalysis" because the name implies two meanings. One is obvious -- that I love psychoanalysis and its potential for healing at a depth that touches what's real in each person. And the other is that I am learning how to DO loving psychoanalysis. My goal is to allow myself to open up to all parts of myself, because this is what will help those that I work with to open up to themselves, too. Change is a difficult and internally conflictual process, and knowing this at a personal level is what allows me to connect to my clients in a real way.
