I am primarily a struggling sinner who fights every day to fall on the grace of God found in Jesus. I am also a daughter, a sister, a friend....who is blessed to have the family of God surrounding me. I am a nurse with a background in pediatrics (oncology and blood/marrow transplantation, general pediatrics, and home care/palliative care/hospice). Most recently I have been working in maternal-child nursing, specializing in mother-newborn care and neonatal intensive care, as I study to become a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I get excited about seeing joy, hope, and grace all around me. I love laughter, spontaneity, sunshine, and impromptu cups of Starbucks peppermint mochas (tall, light, no whip, in case anyone ever wonders....). Give me fettucini alfredo from Olive Garden and I am a happy woman for a week. Yes, I intentionally step on fallen leaves just to hear them crunch. I love talking about my latest "gross factor" story from work (even better when discussed over dinner), giving medical advice, and I admit it, I get a kick out of running down the hallway to help catch a baby. I love studying ethical issues, particularly issues related to the beginning of life and end-of-life. I love baby feet and toes (but can't stand big people's feet anywhere near me). I love the paradoxically common-sense logic of three-year-olds. I love my family, my church, and the community that God has blessed me with. My parents are my heroes. The Lord is my salvation and gives me grace every single day.
