I am an entrepreneur by birth, and a career counselor by training. Managing your career and the job search should be an entrepreneurial process. Your career is a start-up. You need to seek out those with knowledge (peers, professionals, colleagues, mentors) to help you develop and serve as advisors. You need to treat supervisors and potential employers as potential clients or investors. I help job seekers recognize their expertise, connect to employers needs, and communicate that connection throughout the job search process. Below, you will see I have over 15 years of career services experience including: 11 years of progressive leadership and supervision experience, involving significant responsibility in budget management, strategic planning, program assessment and development, relationship management, and personnel management. Expertise in internship programs for undergraduate and graduate students including holding leadership positions in national associations, coaching small, mid-size and enterprise employers on developing and managing internship programs, and overseeing multiple university internship and internship gran programs. Proven track record developing comprehensive career services for undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni. Initiated department's strategic realignment of programs and services that linked alumni, students, and recruiters to identify both entry-level and advanced talent. Experience counseling and advising students, alumni and professionals in a wide range of fields including consulting, finance, government, non-profit, biotechnology, engineering, and research. Proven record of using evolving technology to connect and educate students and alumni. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across institutions to develop innovative programs and resources.
