Carol Brennan King

Lifelong educator, having taught communication and writing courses over 40 years in the USA, Chad, Africa, Jamaica, West Indies, in person and via Zoom. Nearly life long writer with over a thousand publications - first published in The Daily Review at age 11, then in various faith journals, newspapers and weekly publications. I have a passion to teach and encourage writers and see more of my work published. I have published two poetry chapbooks: Walkabout and The Empty Cross. I have finished my book of historical fiction: Leaving Ireland, and hope to see it published within a year. Favorite places: where stories hide, like historical sites - when fewer people are there, and I can listen to the stories floating in the air, or old cemeteries, like at the Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY where captured Confederate soldiers were housed and ultimately hundreds were buried. Another favorite cemetery is up on top of Barclay Cemetery in Pennsylvania where immigrants from Europe came in search of a better life. However, that better life lasted until the coal ran out. I listened there as a mother wept over he lost children. Oh, they died in the 1800's. There's lots more place to listen - most recently, we visited the Daniel Boone Homestead in Berks County, Pennsylvania. My husband followed me as I listened for the voice of the boy who lived here.
