I'm born and raised in Denmark in a multicultural Danish / American home. I graduated in 1980 from Aarhus University “Handelshojskolen” in English and French business studies. I have a certificate from La Sorbonne in "Cours de Civilisation Française". Studied German Culture at the Goethe Institut in Paris. I'm married to an American. I have a French born son, raised in France, USA and Denmark. Communication and Cultural Communication Studies • 2005 Certificate in Business Communication, Paris – France • 2010 Business Cultural Trainers Certificate, IHL (International House London), Paris - France • 2011 Intercultural Communication Credited Studies, College of Marin, Kentfield, CA - USA. Career I have 30 years of work experience in the Shipping Industry in International Trade. 25 years in France and 5 years in the USA, each place over two different periods. Currently I'm located and working in California, USA. During my career in the Shipping Industry, I have worked mainly for 3 major shipping companies. Total 11 years for Maersk France, 9 years for Hapag-Lloyd respectively in France and the United States, 6 years for P&O Nedlloyd in France and 4 years for Setaf Saget, Paris France. My career has mainly been as Trade / Line Manager for both export and import worldwide. My interest for Intercultural Communication and research stems from my many years in International Trade and especially during the 2004 to 2006 when working for Maersk, Paris, France. during which period I was in charge of Marketing and Communication, and especially the last 3 years where Communication became my main focus. I became a member of Sietar(Society for Intercultural Education, Training & Research), France in 2008 and since 2011 I'm a member of Sietar, USA and member of the Steering Committee of a Local Sietar Group in Berkely which is working on becoming an officially recognized by Sietar, USA.
